Too much alcohol or not?


You can use alcohol for relaxing of your body and mind, with dinner or with French cheese, you can use it for many things, even for starting a fire in your fireplace.

The real problem starts when you use it too often for the relaxation of your body and mind.


Chronic pancreatitis, alcoholic liver disease, damage to CNS, malnutrition, damage to the peripheral nervous system are just some of the major thing that can and will occur from alcohol abuse.

Your heart will have problems also, and if your heart has problems with alcohol so will you. Depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, the list goes on and on…

How can you know if you abuse alcohol?


Well, some smart people say that if you are a woman, you can drink up to 8 drinks per week, and if you are a man, up to 15 drinks per week are ok. What does that mean?

Researchers say that a drink is 5 ounces of wine, 12 ounces of beer or 1.5 ounces of spirts.


That’s not that much, or is it?


3 ounces a day involves six cans of beer, six shots of liquor or 5 glasses of wine. Well, maybe five glasses of wine with dinner is enough for you to forget what you ate.

So, if you have a small glass of wine with dinner, every night of the week than you go out on the weekend and you take some beer and cocktail, or maybe wine again that would mean that you drink excessively.

But, there is a finding to the new study that says “90 percent of excessive drinkers are not alcohol dependent/alcoholics. That means that those people are not alcohol dependent even that they are drinking too much. They don’t have withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking; they do not report an increased tolerance for alcohol.


The more and the longer the period of drinking is, and you need a solid 20 years and more than 5 ounces of alcohol a day to develop cirrhosis, the more damage will be done to your body.
