NAAAP Columbus participated in PILOT

Proactive Individuals as Leaders of Tomorrow (PILOT) is a conference for Asian American college students and new professionals, who will become group leaders for GenerAsian neXt, a separate conference for training middle to high school Asian American youth to be future leaders of the community. PILOT under the umbrella of the Columbus Asian American Community Services (AACS) guides young Asian Americans to greater personal success, career development, and community leadership through service learning and social networking. Dr. Judy Yeh, Program Manager for Child and Youth Services at AACS and NAAAP Member coordinated GenerAsian neXt and PILOT Conferences.

NAAAP Columbus President Shane Carlin was one of two keynote speakers and he presented "The Importance of Being Asian American". Secretary Annie Sit spoke about the profession of art and design in "Career Panel: Strategies for APA Career Advancement". Professional Development Chair Hien Tran shared his expertise in "How APA's can Run Effective Meetings". Webmaster George Yui volunteered to be the photographer/camera-man for the event. In addition, Social Chiar Angela Cheung and University Relations Sasha Westgate participated in PILOT to be a group facililators for GenerAsian neXt Conference.
